How to obtain a copy of the Arbitration Act 1996 by downloading.
There follows a series of steps that may be followed in order to download
a copy of the Arbitration Act 1996 from the official government site. These
instructions supersede those given in "European Arbitration" issue
14 dated 28th March 1997. "European Arbitration" is an ezine and mchapman@zen.dedal.fr.net
will email particulars of the ezine on request.
Create a directory into which you wish to download a copy of the
Arbitration Act 1997.
This takes you to a copyright notice permitting downloading for private
use and when you scroll down the page it shows the title and contents pages
of the Act.
Click on "File" then "Save as" on your browser and you
will be given the opportunity to browse in order to locate the directory you
have created to contain your copy of the Arbitration Act 1996. Click on OK
and your browser will create a file copy of what you have seen on your
screen.
Scroll down to the bottom of the copyright notice/contents page and you
will see a "continue" button. Click on it and your browser will
take you to the first of a series of files that contain the text of the
Arbitration Act 1996.
Repeat the steps:
"File" then "Save as"
Scroll down to the continue button and click on it.
over and over again until you come to a file with no continue button.
At this point you have saved the whole of the Arbitration Act 1996 in
the directory that you created for that purpose.
At this point you may disconnect from your Information Service Provider.
If necessary you can always reconnect to pick up a file that was missed in
the save as process.
The list of files in the directory created to hold the Arbitration Act
1996 should be as follows:

Point your browser at each of the files above in your Arbitration Act 1996
directory and click on print. It is necessary to use your browser to print
these files from your own computer's directory (enter a full path starting
C:\) as they are html encoded and the html will be interpreted to give a
properly laid out printed copy of the Arbitration Act 1996.
Be warned that the whole of the Arbitration Act 1996 has not been brought
into force. See the Explanatory Note for the important
details.
Please email cliffd@endispute.co.uk if you find any errors in or difficulties
with the downloading procedure.
